Apartments: what to tell us

The city, Larrakeyah, Cullen Bay and the Stuart Park side of the harbour are mostly apartments and unit complexes, many of them rented or let short-term. Tiled through, with compact bathrooms and often a second ensuite, they are quick jobs, but access is the thing to get right. When you request a quote, tell us the floor number, whether there is a lift, where a van can park or unload (loading zones and visitor bays make a big difference in the CBD) and any body-corporate rules on working hours or noise. The cleaner plans the gear around that so the job starts on time.

For short-stay and investment apartments, owners and property managers can book between guests or tenants on the same published prices, with the invoice to whoever is paying. Put the changeover date in the notes and we will fit around the cleaner doing the rest.

Parap, Fannie Bay and the older inner suburbs

Across the other side, Parap, Fannie Bay, Ludmilla and The Narrows have more of Darwin’s older housing: elevated homes with tiled ground floors, and ground-level houses from the post-Tracy rebuild. The grout here has usually had decades of wet seasons, and the floors have had decades of mopping. It comes up well. Where light grout has stained through, colour sealing gives one even colour again; where the shower grout has gone black in the corners, a shower clean at $159 is usually enough.

Selling or leasing in the inner suburbs

Inner Darwin homes and apartments photograph for sale and for lease constantly, and dark grout shows in every bathroom and kitchen photo. A clean, and sealing if the grout is light, is one of the cheaper things you can do before the photographer comes. Book a week ahead so there is time for sealing to cure.
